Soccer has been a very important part of my life; to me, it has a clear definition: passion. It’s not only a very healthy hobby, or a good sport to watch and admire the extremely handsome soccer players; it’s something more, part of my culture, and part of who I am. Whenever I think of soccer, I think of parties, of celebrations, of dancing; and of course, what does a good dancer needs in order to have an amazing performance? Talent and of course, some darn good dancing shoes.
A soccer player needs to have three things to be successful: Talent, strength and speed. Talent acquired with time, practice and effort; strength to defeat the opponent on the field; and speed to be the first and fastest of the team. Talent and strength are pretty much, gained with experience; but, what about speed?
A soccer player, or at least a very good one, knows that speed is primordial and accuracy, even more. That being said, the secret of soccer players and their success in speed and accuracy comes down to a simple pair of cleats. Cleats offer stability and support to the player; soccer cleats, in this case, are designed to keep the feet as close to the ground as possible.
Nike Mercurial SL; that is the name of the most popular and expensive soccer cleat as of right now. Nike, the producer, created the lightest and fastest soccer cleat in history of soccer. The Nike Mercurial SL weights only 0.418878 lb and is made of carbon fiber. Even though the cleat is light, strength and speed are well achieved by the player wearing it. The cleat has a good combination of colors, black and pink, designed especially for the modern soccer player. The construction of the Nike Mercurial SL gives the player the propulsion and acceleration he needs to make smooth moves but also the protection of avoiding foot injuries.
I think that the cleat is the most important part of the soccer attire. The cleat needs to be right for you and your needs; there are millions of models, colors and styles. I love the Nike Mercurial SL not only because of its aerodynamics or popularity, but because my favorite soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo, is an avid fan and always wear them when he plays. Ronaldo is very successful on the field, his goals and tricks are extraordinary and he has said before that without his cleats, he probably wouldn’t be able to do half of the wonders he does while playing.
Most of the people have some kind of activity that they embrace, love and enjoy above everything else. I know that they can relate to me and my soccer madness and not only those who find soccer appealing; but those who have something they care about and make them who they are; it might be drawing, writing, reading, composing, cooking, cleaning etc. Loving something that builds character in you and makes you better as a person is essential to develop a happier personality.
Convincing someone that the right tools drive you to success is not a goal easy to accomplish. Even though I want to inform and let everybody know the benefits of having an amazing over-the-top cleat; the main purpose is to share a little bit of my knowledge on the subject I define as my passion.
Readers everywhere might be wondering why this girl cares so much about soccer. She doesn’t even play! And if she does I bet she is terrible! And you know what that is true. After reading this, you soccer fanatic who is still in the “closet,” you discouraged but talented musician, you aspiring writer; please have in mind that no matter how hard obstacles are on the way with effort and the right tools, like the soccer cleat, everything is possible and impossible is nothing.
An old man with dark sun burnt skin and white hair is sitting at an airport all alone. He wears a white leisure suit with a peach colored undershirt and a safari style straw hat. As he sits his eyes are fixed studying an old crinkled map. Of all his apparent traveling characteristics the most evident item that identifies him as a traveler is his suitcase that sits at his feet.
One can get a true sense of how much this man has traveled just by the way his suitcase looks. It is an old fashioned suitcase; not like the ones seen today with zippers, retractable handles, and rolling wheels. Simply, just brass latches and a clear solid handle are attached to this rectangle shaped suitcase roughly large enough to fit a weeks worth of clothes, a pair of shoes, and room for a small souvenir inside. The covering on his suitcase consists of scratched and faded brown leather with an even darker brown leather trim along the edges. Along with the tattered leather and old school style this suitcase is covered with stickers.
It is easily recognizable which places he’s recently visited and which places he visited long ago by the fading and peeling of the stickers. For instance, Italy’s sticker is dark and faded of a chef holding up pasta, Paris’ sticker is glossy and of the Eiffel Tower, Australia’s stickers is peeling and of a kangaroo, while the “SEE ROCK CITY” sticker is faded and torn. These four stickers really give some kind of insight to all the places this suitcase has been and how long it has been traveling.
What item best identifies the act of traveling? Could it be clothes, airplanes, or highways? No, a suitcase identifies the act of traveling best. No matter where a person is from or where they travel they have a suitcase (or something like a suitcase) with them. It is an item everybody and identify with. Not only can everyone relate to a suitcase but also a suitcase can tell a story of the owner by the way it appears. There isn’t another item that can do the same and also relate to everybody.
Suitcases are the epitome of traveling. Leisurely travel has everything to do with luggage and suitcases. People need them to carry their belongings such as souvenirs and clothes. When people schedule vacations the first thing they do is pack their suitcases. It must be the excitement that can’t be contained which compels someone to start packing a week before they leave. When someone leaves to a new place, the only thing they have to relate to are the items inside their suitcase that they brought along.
Traveling allows me to relax, enjoy food, and see new sights; just as it does for most people. But traveling can more than just an extravagant way to see the world and relax; it can be a way to experience different cultures and human beings.
People should go out and travel to break out of their comfort zone and try new things a certain culture may expect. Case in point, people visiting an African tribe may have to accept eating bugs for dinner or sleeping on a dirt floor, which may not be relaxing, but it can help people to appreciate what they have and find a deeper meaning in life by experiencing how other cultures act.
